One of the most common things we hear before someone books with us is, “I just want to know what I’m getting into.“
Fair. That’s not a hesitation, it’s a smart question. Investing in brand strategy and website design is a real commitment of time, money, and creative energy. Knowing what the process looks like before you say yes is part of making a good decision.
So here’s exactly that. What working with Magva Designs actually looks like from the very first conversation to the day your new brand goes live.
Before We Start: The Discovery Call
Everything starts with a discovery call and we want you to come exactly as you are. You don’t need to have a mood board ready, a clear vision of what you want, or the perfect way to describe your business. You just need to show up.
This call is a conversation, not a pitch. We’ll ask about your business, your goals, what’s working, what feels off, and what you’re hoping a rebrand will actually change for you. We want to understand where you are and where you’re trying to go.
By the end of it, you’ll know whether we’re the right fit, and so will we. No pressure, no sales tactics. Just an honest conversation about whether this makes sense.
Phase 1: Brand Strategy
Before a single design element is created, we do the strategic work. This phase is where we get underneath the surface of your business and build the foundation that everything else will be built on.
During the strategy phase, we’re clarifying your positioning: what you do, who it’s for, and what makes it different from every other option in your space. We’re articulating your core message, building out your brand voice, and defining your ideal client in a way that goes beyond demographics.
Your role during this phase is to show up for our working sessions, answer our questions honestly (even the ones that make you think), and trust the process even when it feels like we’re going deep before we go fast. That depth is what makes everything that follows feel right.
At the end of Phase 1, you’ll have a brand strategy document. A clear articulation of your positioning, messaging, and voice that will serve as the strategic brief for everything that comes next.
Phase 2: Brand Identity Design
Now we design. And because we’ve done the strategic work first, every visual decision has a reason behind it. It’s not just what looks good, it’s what’s right for your brand specifically.
We’ll develop your visual identity, your logo system, color palette, typography, and supporting design elements, and present them in a cohesive brand presentation that shows you not just the pieces but how they work together.
This isn’t a guessing game. We’ll walk you through the thinking behind each choice and why it’s right for where your business is headed. You’ll have space to give feedback, ask questions, and refine. We work through revisions collaboratively because this is your brand, and you should feel great about it.
Phase 3: Website Design and Development
With your brand strategy and visual identity locked in, we move into website design. This phase builds out your online home, the place where everything comes together and your ideal client can find you, understand you, and feel certain that they found the right person.
You’ll review the site before anything is finalized, and we’ll go through rounds of feedback to make sure everything feels right, the layout, the messaging, the user experience, all of it.
Launch and Beyond
Launch day is a good day. But it’s not the end of the relationship.
When we hand over your brand, we hand it over in a way that actually sets you up to use it. You’ll receive your brand files organized and labeled, your website with a walkthrough of how to update it yourself, and enough context to carry the brand forward with confidence.
The goal is for you to leave feeling equipped, not dependent on us to make every small update or stuck wondering what font to use in a Canva graphic. You should be able to take this brand and run with it.
What Makes This Different
A lot of studios do design. Fewer do strategy. Even fewer do both in a way where the strategy genuinely informs the design where the visual choices come directly from the thinking, not the other way around.
At Magva Designs, I work exclusively with women in business, which means I understand the specific dynamics that shape how clients show up, what they’ve been told about their brands, and what they actually need from this investment. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, it’s built around you.
Ready to Get Started?
If this sounds like the kind of partnership you’ve been looking for, the next step is simple: book a discovery call. No pitch, no pressure. Just a conversation to see if we’re the right fit for where you’re headed.
We’d love to hear about your business.
